november books are FULL

November through the 1st week of December books are full. Books for the second week of December through the 1st week of January will open on December 1st at 8am. I have a month by month booking system, see below for details. Sliding scale available to be accessible to everyone. New clients welcome!

frequently asked questions:

HOW DO I BOOK A service?

1.Determine which sliding scale menu you will be booking from by clicking “Services and Pricing” before you book and reading about the scale.

2. Mark your calendar for the 1st of the month. On the regular schedule, the online booking calendar opens one month at a time, on the 1st of the month, at 8am. No appointments will show until that time. Books fill quickly so do set your alarm.

3. Click the booking link and book from your selected sliding scale menu.

I’m not sure which sliding scale menu to choose from.

I have created a handy how-to guide for ethically placing yourself on the scale. Here it is!

how DO I book A BANG TRIM?

Bang trims available by text or email request to sundaymorninghair@gmail.com or 323-251-2848. Sliding scale for bang trims: $30 Base / $20 Community Love / $10 Community Care. Bang trims may be booked at any time. You do not need to wait until the 15th of the month :-). Please note that due to limited availability, bang trims are for existing clients only at this time.

WHY AM I NOT SEEING AVAILABILITY WHEN I CLICK TO BOOK?

I open my books one month at a time. No availability for a coming month will show until that month’s books have opened.

If books are open and no dates appear, it means that the month is completely full. Once the month has filled, the online calendar will not show any availability. Don’t worry…it doesn’t mean I’m already booked for the rest of the year. It just means I haven’t opened up the next month yet. So just mark your calendar for the 1st of the coming month, or join the waitlist, and you should be able to get in within a couple of weeks of your target date!

HOW DO I JOIN THE WAITLIST and email NOTIFICATION list?

The easiest way is probably just to write me and I can add you to the waitlist. But you can also add yourself. When you click to book and there are no available appointments, you will get this message…

CLICK THE BLUE BLOX below the message (there is actually very faint text inside it that says “Add to Waitlist”. (Sorry for this glitch in the software. Sadly, out of my control).

The booking software I use unfortunately requires that you waitlist for each day you want to come. If you can come any day, I recommend that you select the last day of the month because the booking software will delete your name from the list once your date has passed. That way your name will stay on the list for the whole month. If you need a specific date, please note that I only work Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, so no need to bother putting your name in for other dates.

If there is a last minute cancellation, the spot is automatically offered to the entire waitlist at once. The first client to book will receive the appointment.

If a cancellation is not filled by the wait list, or if it is too last minute to do so, I send a notification to my email list. To be on the email list, make sure to enter your email into your booking profile if you would like to be on my email list and turn notifications ON. Notifications must be on to receive my emails. Don’t worry, you will only receive emails from me (no spam or ads) and I don’t send a lot. :-)

HOW SHOULD I WEAR MY HAIR TO THE APPOINTMENT?

Freshly washed hair is not required, but it needs to have been washed, detangled, and styled as you wear it within the past 7 days. Use whatever product you normally use. I wanna see how you style it!

In order for me to provide the best service, I like to assess your hair’s natural patterns and texture. Do not come to your appointment with your hair in braids, ponytails, buns, headbands, twists, bobby pins or anything else that will leave unnatural shapes in the hair or alter the natural hair pattern of how your hair falls. It makes it hard for me to read it! Think of how you’d wear your hair if you were wearing it down in an air-dry style for a night on the town.

DO YOU DO KIDS HAIR?

I do not offer children’s haircuts (under 18 years old).

DO YOU DO COLOR?

I am currently not offering color services. Perm and chemical straightening services are not offered due to the studio being a clean-air environment (the fume for these services is too strong).

ARE THERE ANY OTHER SERVICES NOT OFFERED?

I am a cuts-only studio so braiding, updos, blowouts, or wedding do’s at this time.

Do You only use a razor?

Absolutely not! I use the tool I think will work best to achieve the look we are going for based on my expertise and creative eye. That may mean using a razor or that may mean using a scissor. That may mean dry-cutting or cutting from wet-to-dry. But please be able to leave it to me to use whatever tool I think I need to artistically achieve the goal of the haircut.

How to tell if Sunday Morning is right for me?

You are ready to embrace your natural texture (or already do) and are seeking a wash-and-go look for air-dry or diffuser drying and hand-styling. I do not offer a blowouts, wanding, or flat-ironing as part of the service.

You like whar I do! :-). I am a lover of “undone” hair…shags, bobs, mullets, bowls, curly cuts, and short crops inspired by music, art, film, and fashion. Check out my portfolio of work and inspiration on this website, or my instagram @sundaymorninghair, before you book.
