Michael got his start in hair when he landed a job at the prestigious Arrojo Cutler salon in New York City. The original intent was to further fund his college education in painting and design, but once he got started, he was hooked. Michael joined Sunday Morning in 2015, and continues freelance work for editorial, red carpet, and advertising. He also plays heavy metal guitar.
Michael’s background includes years working as assistant to world renowned hairstylists, Guido Palau and Franco Gobbi, and training full time with the creative directors from Toni and Guy, Sassoon, and Bumble and Bumble. He has been working in the world of hair for over 15 years.
Michael’s color specialties include natural, lived-in feeling, highlights and balayage. He is a very craft-minded and meticulously detail-oriented in both his cuts and color. Whether it is a precision bob, textured layers, or a classic men’s cut, his focus is to produce work of the highest quality with each and every client.
Michael may cut hair wet and dry. His technique is very classic and technical, but the results may be equally as soft and textured as they may be edgy or precise. Michael utilizes a variety of tools, ranging from scissor to razor or clipper, depending on the desired effect.
