Courtney practiced as an architect for over a decade before quitting her office job to pursue the freedom and creativity she found doing hair. She is proud owner of Sunday Morning, and is dedicated to providing a sustainable practice. Courtney offers ammonia free organic color, fume free bleach, and nontoxic cruelty-free styling products. When she’s not doing hair, Courtney loves to put her architectural background to use working on her house in El Sereno.
Her training includes education from such talented stylists as Ramirez Tran, Tracey Cunningham, Pony Salon, Nick Arrojo, Prive, Sassoon, Santa Barbara Balayage, Toni and Guy, and American Crew to name a few. Courtney continues to pursue continuing education with a passion.
Her specialties include ultra-natural lived-in feeling highlights, balayage, and women’s “undone” haircuts with a loose 70’s vibe (an unabashed lover of bowl cuts and shaggy fashion mullets).
Courtney cuts hair dry in order to allow the natural fall and texture of the hair to inform the haircut. Her technique is visually intuitive and sculptural, but with a healthy use of classic sectioning to maintain balance and control through a haircut. Courtney typically cuts with scissors, but may utilize a variety of tools such as razor or clipper, depending on the desired effect.
